Lightning Seeds have confirmed a special performance at The Academy Dublin 10th November 2010. The band will also play Spring and Airbrake, Belfast 11th November and Dolans Warehouse, Limerick 12th November.

An all-star cast of Robbie Williams, Russell Brand, Trevor Horn, Ian Broudie, John Motson, David Baddiel, Frank Skinner and soprano Olivia Safe have teamed up as The Squad to record a new version of the Lightning Seeds football song ‘3 Lions’. The song is set for release this summer for the World Cup in South Africa.

Ian Broudie returned this spring with a brand new Lightning Seeds album, the first for ten years, featuring ten new songs written and produced by Broudie. Wrapped in melody and full of the kind of timeless emotional depth we’ve come to expect from him, ‘Four Winds’ is both uplifting and thought provoking. It’s a beautiful album that strikes a warm fuzzy familiar chord while managing to reach a new musical maturity. “It’s not like I’ve ever been away, really,” Ian says. “I’ve been a part of music all my life and that never stops. These are just songs that represent where I am on this journey.” Highlights are many and include the melancholic ‘4 Wind’, the ethereal sway of ‘Ghosts’, the pop swagger of ‘The Story Goes’ and the autobiographical ‘I Still Feel The Same’. ‘Four Winds’ is out now.
